i gave exam on 14th march....i stayed in days inn......besides wwhat IVAN has said......i wud like to say....it has service that can pick u up and drop u to goerge bush international airport also it has service that can pick u up and drop u to the ECFNG exam center and it can also drop u at the metro(local bus service in houston)........and all this service is for free.....also it has free breakfast if u want....u can check out before going to the exam in the morning and can ask them to keep your luggage for the day....after your exam is over u can come back to days inn, get your luggage and then plan your trip....
Please don't think about going to the days-inn. I had my test Feb 5 2008, my experience started with the small and smokey lobby and continued when i entered my room and found the previous guests suitcases still in there (don't want to think if they have cleaned the room or not.... I moved to the "Days Hotel" for 55$ a night (just say you came for the medical exam) the rooms are decent, clean you receive free wireless access from the room and the rooms are equipped with a large table which i studied on. The hotel also provides free shuttle survice to Bush Airport and the best is that it is 5 minute WALK to the exam center. Although not fancy, it is clean and convenient.
Thanks for sharing :-)
I just booked my hotel at Days Hotel (281.931.0101) for $69/night plus tax. I was informed there is free aiport shuttle service and that the test site is a 3-minute walk from the hotel.
Please let me know if I am making a mistake reserving this particuliar hotel!
Thank you!
I also called Amerisuites (Hyatt Place) (281.820.6060) and was quoted $119/night plus tax with free shuttle service from the airport and to the testing site with a 7:45am departure.
AND
Days Inn quoted me at $51.48/night plus tax with free shuttle service from the airport and to the testing site with a 7:00am departure.
Yep - Day;s hotel is extremely close and walkable - check that out here on Google maps too
I stayed at Hyatt Place and loved it. If you call and say that you are staying for the USMLE exam, they charge $99. The room is spacious and comfy, plus the 42" tv with easy hook-ups for video games was pretty nice. There's a free continental breakfast, or you can order a hot breakfast if that's what you prefer. It is the closest hotel to the test center, plus the shuttle will take you anywhere in a 5 mi radius. It costs a little bit more than some other hotels, but I thought it was worth it.
I find it perplexing that Bridget, who is supposedly a medical student in Houston awaiting exam day, is so excited about a 42" television with easy hook-ups for VIDEO GAMES in her comfy hotel room.
Hmmmmmmm....
Hi I just did my CS at Houston, the exam center has a deal with Hyatt hotel 89$, wow it was an awesome experience, breakfast at 6 am was very healthy all kinds of fruits, cereals etc.Room was fabulous.Best part its right across the hway from CS center, clean, comfortable and SAFE (your car is safe, they have mobile security)
wow I agree with Bridget, Hyatt was really good, few blocks from the exam center.I think with tax was 118 or so.
